Using the Bourbon Family - Conclusion

(Note: This posts ends our tour of thoughtbot’s Bourbon family of libraries. Here are links to the previous entires):

If you’ve read this far, then I sincerely hope you got something out of this overview of the Bourbon family. But before we wrap up the article series, I would like to cover one lingering thought:

Bootstrap

After reading of my appreciation of Bourbon, you might think that I’m no longer a fan of Bootstrap. This isn’t at all the case. Bootstrap still fills an important role among web design frameworks. If I were working on a web application with a large team (with potentially high turnover), I would choose Bootstrap in a heartbeat. It’s easy to use, provides rock solid visual consistency, and gives you mobile version of your site essentially for free. When you need results and you can’t afford for them to break, you can’t really beat it.

That being said, for a personal website, developed by one person, I appreciate the flexibility and compartmentalization offered by Bourbon and friends.
