You will notice something new some of the upcoming posts about Mega Man X4 - animated GIFs.
I found myself wishing I could demonstrate certain parts of all the MMX games in motion, in particular the weapons or boss patterns. I finally found software that can convert a video to animated GIF, and thankfully the Switch can capture video. It’s a painstaking process of capturing, transferring, creating the GIF, etc, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
However, I understand that a page full of animated GIFs may be hard to read, so I found a Javascript library that allows you to control playback. All animated GIFs on the site will show a big purple playback arrow. Just click on it, and the GIF will play (click again to pause). Hopefully that will make things easier on you.
I also realize that animated GIFs can grow in size, and thus slow page loads. I tried to keep the as cropped and quick as possible, so I hope that helps. Maybe there are other techniques I can employ for low-bandwidth situations, but for now, I am going to celebrate just figuring out how to do all this.
