Gunpla Build - High Grade Barbatos Lupus (Part 1) 2023-11-26

As always, let’s begin with the runners:

There are only three of them, but to be fair, they’re all pretty dense with parts. In fact, the “C” Runner (the one with all the white parts) is so cramped that at times I struggled to find enough space to fit in nippers and make a cut.

In other words, it’s not a ton of parts, but it’s more than you might think.

Gunpla Builds - Garbage Time 2023 2023-11-17

Last year, I engaged in what I called Garbage Time. For those who want the TL:DR version - I bought a couple of kits from Target, mainly to support the very idea of Gunpla being sold at a big box store.

But since I wasn’t super interested in the mobile suits themselves, the kits lingered on the backlog. The idea of Garbage Time was to knock them out during a brief and unexpected bout of motivation.

I’m currently feeling a very similar bout of motivation, so I decided to kick off another round of Garbage Time for 2023. The rules are the same as before: build a few kits that have been lingering on the backlog for a while, and which I no longer have - or never really had - a ton of interest in.

This time, there’s a bit of a theme. Can you guess what it is?

Here are the parts to the Schwalbe Graze:

Sometimes you can get a good feel for a how a build is going to play out just by looking at the runners and stickers. But I feel like this shot is deceiving. At first glance it doesn’t look like a ton of parts, but I can tell you that there’s more going on here than you might think. It’s a bit of an optical illusion; the Schwalbe Graze uses so many different colors of plastic that the parts are spread out among multiple smaller runners, rather than a few large sheets.
