It’s Christmas time, and you know what that means - Star Wars Model Kits!
People know I like building models, and they know I like Star Wars. They also don’t know squat about Gundam. So when it comes time to buy gifts, their choice is obvious.
Not that I mind, of course. I really quite like Bandai’s Star Wars models. They require a lot more work in regards to painting and detailing, and they may not have much in the way of articulation, but they always end up looking gorgeous.
Since this is Star Wars, and not Gundam, I’m not really sure how much (if any) background or explanation I ought to provide. I mean, anyone who reads this probably knows who R2-D2 and BB-8 are, right? Maybe the Razor Crest deserves a bit of background. I guess I’ll play it by ear.
My plan as of now is to move all three kits to the top of the backlog, despite having over a dozen Gunpla still waiting in the wings. After taking a break from model building for most of December, I think I’m ready to get back into it, but maybe I could use a longer break from building mecha. Star Wars builds are just different enough to feel like a change of pace, and I think I could use that right about now. Not to mention that I’d like to show everyone how much I appreciate their gifts to me, and I can’t really do that by having these sit in the basement for months on end.
