Okay, so maybe I didn’t need to make a second post for photos. I didn’t end up taking nearly as many as I expected.
As it turns out, having a second pack of Witch From Mercury Weapon Display Parts is convenient, but it doesn’t make them any less of a pain to use. They’re still liable to tip over if they’re not connected to an Action Base, and it’s still hard to position them in my relatively small lightbox.
Anyway, here’s what I got.
The Darilbalde with all its weapons out:
And with the arms reversed:
I would have loved to spread them all out some more, but I’d have to ditch the box. This is the best I could do under the circumstances.
I also found it kind of a pain to pose the Beam Spear. It’s the same problem as with most spear and staff-type Gunpla weapons, in that it doesn’t fit tightly in the hand. It slips up and down depending on how it’s positioned, and it makes it hard to get exactly the pose you want.
Here we have the Darilbalde using the Wire Claw:
This is also kind of a pain. The wire is too long to use in this box, so short of cutting it, all I could do is bend it a little.
Here’s another shot that’s a little bit more straight:
But really, I found ground-based poses to be the best for this particular model:
Or even just “slightly hovering but close to the ground” poses:
The Darilbalde has such an intimidating presence, but I find that that gets lost in the shuffle during busy action poses.
Conclusion
So the posing was a bit of a bust. That’s okay. The model still looks fantastic in all its standing poses, and I’m very happy with the results. The Darilbalde once again feels like my Spirit Mobile Suit.
The only problem now is that I’m not sure if the Darilbalde tops Ilfrith as my favorite GWitch design.
Can I settle for a tie?
