Now that we have the Universe Booster and Galaxy Booster complete, it’s time to see what they can do for the Exceed Galaxy. But first, let’s briefly mention how they attach.
First, you don’t actually attach the entirety of the Galaxy Booster, but rather pluck off some of its wings and add them to the Exceed Galaxy’s existing Core Fighter.
Second, in order to attach the cannons from the Universe Booster, we have to add the shield to the back in order to make use of its hardpoints.
And with that, the Exceed Galaxy is decked out and ready to rock:
I think it adds quite a lot to its overall look. Now it can stand proudly next to its sibling:
And a few more shots for good measure:
I think it’s clever how they designed the Exceed Galaxy to look so good with all these booster parts. The white wings of the Galaxy Booster and the pink bits on the Universe Booster are a perfect match.
We’re not done yet. Bandai’s special instruction site has some suggestions for other customizations. For example, you can assemble the Beam Rifle backwards:
And then attach the guns from the Universe Booster to make a double barrelled cannon:
It’s a cute idea, but I don’t think it looks all that great. At the very least it’s a nice and easy demonstration on how one might use the hardpoints on the rifle.
Lastly, we can depict the Exceed Galaxy powering up Dragonball Z-style. We just need to grab the Plavsky Power Gate that came with the Universe Booster, and then steal the Plavsky Wings from my as-of-yet-unbuilt Star Build Strike:
Do I think it looks cool? Yes. Do I wish I could attach these bits while also attaching all of the Booster parts at the same time? Also yes. Unfortunately that’s not really an option. Both the wings and the Plavsky Gate plug into the same places that the Galaxy Booster’s wings would go, so have to choose between one or the other:
Conclusion
I’m impressed. The Exceed Galaxy really is all that configurable and customizable. It’s a great idea, and is arguably the culmination of everything the Build shows stand for.
But as fun as this has been, I think it’s time to move on to another build.
