Gunpla Build - High Grade ECOAS Jegan (Photos)

The ECOAS Jegan is ready to do some wetwork.

Let’s make one thing clear - this may be the only version of the Jegan I like, but that doesn’t mean I’ve become a Jegan convert. I still have a lot of issues with it:

I just happen to think that the ECOAS version papers over some of these flaws thanks to its changes to the design:

(all the cool decals and markings help a lot too)

And yes, I realize this makes me sound like a tsundere, but I swear it’s not true.

It’s n-n-not I like J-Jegans or anything …

Anyway, none of this really matters in the end because, flaws or not, this model turned out to be extremely poseagenic.

It’s sturdy on its feet - and is just generally sturdy - and it moves around easily.

It’s n-n-not I like I think it has good articulation or anything. It’s just … sturdy or whatever

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen another model rock a bazooka quite like this thing can:

Okay, fine, I think the bazooka is cool. Got a problem with that?!?!?

Once I forced the beam saber into its holster, I was afraid I’d never get it out:

But it turns out that pops out easy enough with the help of a tiny screwdriver:

Though sadly the short beam blade isn’t quite as short as I thought it was going to be. It’s really not all that different.

S-s-shut up! I never said the shorter blade was going to be better! You just weren’t paying attention!

I took a couple shots with the visor down, though it seems like the kind of thing to use sparingly

Last, but certainly not least, I borrowed a combat knife from Astaroth to take a few final shots:

T-t-that knife r-really suits you. I guess …

Conclusion

The build may not have been great, but this was yet another kit that was a lot of fun to play with. And while it isn’t my absolute favorite grunt suit, it’s still a good one. Certainly shelf-worthy.

I’ll chalk this one up as a win.

Other Thoughts

It turns out that in the lightbox you can’t always see the monoeye camera from behind the faceplate. But when you can, it actually looks pretty cool.

Finally, to wrap things up, I took a photo of all my Unicorn models so far:

Yes, I know they’re all Feddie suits, but I have at least one Zeke on the backlog, so this group shot is going to grow in due time.

(Actually, next time I take this shot, I should add the Zaku I Sniper Type. Mine may not technically be the Unicorn version, but I don’t think there is any major differences between the two. It should still count)
